Franklin Twp. Man Was 'Specifically Targeted,' County Prosecutors Believe

Authorites from the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office believe that the death of 54-year-old John McConnell "was not a random act."

Investigators believe "the McConnell residence was specifically targeted," according to a statement issued Tuesday. 

The Franklin Twp. man was discovered by his brother on Monday evening. He lived alone, and had last been seen alive just two days earlier, on March 30.

Autopsy results from the office of the county medical examiner said the cause of death was blunt force trauma and positional asphyxiation.
