Deptford Actress Stars in Disney's "Aladdin Jr."

McKenna Ruelan of Deptford plays Jafar in the Walnut Street Theatre's production of Aladdin Jr.

Shining, shimmering, splendid! A young actress from Deptford stars as the evil Jafar in the Walnut Street Theatre’s production of Disney’s ALADDIN JR, beginning September 22nd through September 30th.

Based on the timeless animated film and hit Broadway show, Disney’s ALADDIN JR. is filled with magic and thrills the whole family will enjoy. When street urchin Aladdin falls for the strong-willed Princess Jasmine, he gets help from a fun-loving Genie to outsmart the wicked Jafar and win her hand. Get on your flying carpet and join us on a soaring musical adventure!

McKenna Ruelan takes the stage as Jafar in ALADDIN JR. Currently, Ruelan is a Junior studying Theatre at Gloucester County Institute of Technology. In addition to the Walnut Theatre School’s Advanced Musical Theatre and Shakespeare Classes, Ruelan studies with vocal coach Sarah Biddle.

Outside of the Walnut, Ruelan began modeling, most recently appearing in a Bare Minerals advertisement. She hopes to continue exploring her passion for modeling alongside her theatrical studies.
