Discounted Prices In Effect For Gloucester County Shelter Animals

There are cats, dogs and birds at the Gloucester County Animal Shelter who are seeking their forever homes.

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — There are now 20 cats at the Gloucester County Animal Shelter who are looking for their forever homes, and discounted prices are still available, according to county officials.

The shelter is also currently the home for six dogs and two birds. Residents interested in adopting an animal from the shelter can fill out an application online at http://www.gloucestercountynj.com/.

“Our animals are ready to find their forever home,” Gloucester County Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said. “The COVID-19 pandemic has not stopped operations over at the shelter, and residents are encouraged to adopt the furry friends we have staying with us.”

The shelter is open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Adoption hours are by appointment only Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m.

The shelter is still discounting adoption fees for the animals at the shelter. Animals 6-years-old and younger will have their adoption fees reduced to $35. Dogs and cats 6-years-old and older will have their adoption fees completely waived. Birds are adoptable with a donation to the shelter.

In addition to adoption services, the shelter is still serving Gloucester County residents through the Pet Food Pantry.

“Any resident in need of pet food can contact the shelter directly to retrieve food and treats for their pet,” Freeholder Deputy Director Frank J. DiMarco, liaison to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, said.

Residents should call ahead for Pet Food Pantry at 856-881-2828, ext. 3 for availability and to arrange a pick up time.
