Driver Sought In Fatal Hit-And-Run In South Jersey

DEPTFORD, NJ — Police are still searching for the driver in a fatal hit-and-run accident that took place on a New Jersey highway early Wednesday morning.

A man was fatally struck while walking at milepost 23 on I-295 near Exit 22 in Deptford, police said.

The vehicle then fled the scene at 6:05 a.m. The road was shut down for several hours while police cleared the area.

On Thursday, the victim was identified as 27-year-old Shariff Harrison of Philadelphia, who was pronounced dead on the scene.
