Drunk Driver Causes Fatal Crash On South Jersey Highway: Cops

A drunk driver caused a fatal highway crash, police said.

SOUTH JERSEY – A New Jersey man was struck and killed by a drunk driver this week while trying to cross a highway, police said.

Harjinder Singh, 27, of Turnersville was crossing Route 42 in Washington Township, Gloucester County, at 11:51 p.m. on Sunday when he was struck in the southbound lanes, police said.

Singh was transported to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia where he was pronounced dead, police said.

He was struck by a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Justin Lisiewski, 24, of Williamstown, who was charged with drunk driving, police said.

The highway was closed for 2 1/2 hours after the crash.
