Bingham had begun shouting at an officer who was trying to push the crowd out of the building, authorities said. When the officer continued to push him, Bingham threw a punch, according to authorities.

He can be seen grabbing and pushing the officer on surveillance footage, as well as in a video taken by another person involved in the riot and body-worn camera footage from two Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers, authorities said.

It was the body-worn camera that captured the specific phrases Bingham yelled at the officers, according to authorities.

Bingham is charged with assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers; obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder; and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, among other charges.

The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and the Department of Justice National Security Division’s Counterterrorism Section. Valuable assistance was provided by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Alabama.

The case is being investigated by the FBI’s Washington Field Office, who identified Bingham as #93 on their seeking information photos, as well as the Metropolitan Police Department, with significant assistance provided by the U.S. Capitol Police and FBI’s Tampa Field Office.

In the 150 days since Jan. 6, approximately 465 individuals have been arrested on charges related to the Jan. 6 Capitol breach, including over 130 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement. The investigation remains ongoing.
