Man Reportedly Sitting In Roadway Struck, Killed By Car
The driver stayed at the scene of the crash and cooperated with authorities, police said.
WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — A 56-year-old man seen sitting in a westbound lane of Mantua Grove Road early Thursday morning was struck and killed by a passing car, authorities said.
The incident happened around 5:52 a.m. in the 600 block of the roadway, West Deptford police said in a news release. Witnesses said the man, whose name was not immediately available, was sitting near a bicycle in the roadway just before he was struck.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene, where they found the victim unconscious and unresponsive. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver stayed on scene after the crash and was cooperative with authorities, police said.
