Need a Job? Gloucester County Hosting Career Resource Event

Gloucester County provided the following information:

Gloucester County will hold a Career Resource Event on Friday to help area residents find employment.

The event wil be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the gymnasium of Gloucester County College. More than 50 employers are scheduled to participate. The event is a showcase of area employers who are accepting resumes for current and future positions. Information and support services about child care, health care and unemployment benefits will also available at the event.

Freeholder Heather Simmons, liaison to the county Department of Economic Development, said, “This event will provide access to at least 50 employers at one time. As a result of the event we held last October, 40 residents gained employment. Providing access to jobs and getting our residents working is our priority.”

Simmons said that the response the event garners from the businesses that recruit at the Career Resource Event is always positive.

Karen Schneider of Wedgewood Pharmacy, one of the largest compounding pharmacies in the United States, located in Swedesboro, is once again participating in the Career Resource Event on March 8. “The event is well run and we are always pleased with the caliber of participants,” said Schneider.

Registration is not required for the Career Resource Event.

This event is sponsored by the Gloucester County Freeholder Board, the Workforce Investment Board and Gloucester County College.
