Power Restored To Over 1,000 Gloucester County Residents

Power has been restored to over 1,000 Gloucester County residents early Friday afternoon, according to the Atlantic City Electric Outage Map.

An overnight thunderstorm was still causing problems in the region as over 1,000 people found themselves without power in Gloucester County Friday morning.

“We have all available resources committed to restoring service,” a spokesperson for Atlantic City Electric said earlier in the day. “We expect most customers to be restored early this afternoon with some customers in the more heavily damaged areas to be restored by early evening.”

The outlook for Friday is sunny and cold, but rain is supposed to return over the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. A Flood Warning and a Wind Advisory that were in effect Friday morning have expired, but strong winds persisted. They were expected to die down Friday afternoon.
