Roadrunner Men's Track & Field athletes and coaches "ring" in 2019 as NJCAA Division III National Champions
Twenty Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) Men’s Track & Field athletes and three coaches received championship rings and jackets during a ceremony on Jan. 10 celebrating the team’s NJCAA Division III National Championship win. Since 1992, the College has presented rings to all of its national championship athletes and coaches.
Also recognized with an individual championship ring was three-time national discus, hammer and shotput champion Elisia Lancaster, of Glassboro. Lancaster, a RCGC Women’s Track & Field athlete, holds the school record in discus, hammer and shotput and was named Women’s Track & Field 2018 National Field Athlete of the Year.
Roadrunner Head Coach Ryan Hughes introduced the athletes and shared tournament highlights during the presentation. Hughes, who has coached the Roadrunners for 15 years, was named Men’s Track & Field National Coach of the Year. This is the fifth national championship team that Hughes has guided as head coach.
