Services Set For West Deptford Woman Killed In House Fire

Jacqueline Truss was killed in a house fire in West Deptford on Monday. She was the widow of former police officer George Truss.

WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — Funeral services will take place this week for a 76-year-old woman who was killed during a West Deptford house fire on Monday.

The viewing for Jacqueline Truss will take place on Thursday, Aug. 29, after 6 p.m. at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street in Woodbury, according to her online obituary. There will also be a viewing from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, before her funeral services at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Woodbury Memorial Park in West Deptford.

Truss was killed in the fire that broke out on the 1500 block of Division Street in West Deptford just before 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 26, according to the West Deptford Police Department. The cause of the fire has been ruled accidental.

Jacqueline Truss left behind seven children, 13 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, according to her obituary. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1500 Walnut Street No. 301, Philadelphia, PA 19102.
