Special Valentine's Day Lunch for Gloucester County Seniors

The Gloucester County senior nutrition sites will pair meals from the heart with heart health with a Valentine's Day luncheon and blood pressure screenings at Thorofare Fire Hall.

Gloucester County's Nutrition Sites have a special Valentine's Day lunch planned for the county's senior citizens.

All six of the county's nutrition sites, including Thorofare Fire Hall in West Deptford, will host a Valentine's Day themed lunch for seniors, with a side of blood pressure screenings.

On the menu for Thursday's special luncheon is minestrone soup, ziti and sausage with sauce, green beans, salad with tomato and dressing, an Italian roll and peaches. Along with the meal, a health department nurse will take blood pressure readings at the Thorofare Fire Hall on Thursday beginning at 10:30 a.m. Thorofare is one of four sites where blood pressure will be taken for any seniors wishing to participate. It is being done as part of American Heart Month in February.
