Statewide Search For Several Vehicles In Fatal NJ Hit-And-Run: PD

The State Police says several vehicles struck a man who died in a fatal crash.

NEW JERSEY – The New Jersey State Police is seeking the public's assistance with identifying several vehicles that struck a man who died in a fatal crash this weekend.

The crash happened at approximately 2:24 a.m. on Friday when a Toyota Corolla traveling southbound in the area of milepost 40.9 on Route 55 in Gloucester County struck a pedestrian walking in the left lane, police said.

The pedestrian, identified as Ines Hernandez, 26, of Bridgeton, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the Corolla, Tyler Mason, 23, of Vineland, stayed on scene and did not sustain any injuries.

Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives determined Ines Hernandez was also struck by additional unknown vehicles traveling southbound. The cause and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
