West Deptford Beats Paulsboro In Thanksgiving Weekend Rivalry
The West Deptford High School football team defeated its rival, Paulsboro, on Nov. 25. Will the series continue on Thanksgiving weekend?

WEST DEPTFORD, NJ -- West Deptford and Paulsboro, two of the best football programs in South Jersey, were in the same situation before their game on Nov. 25. You could say the Eagles were in a slightly better one after, but only because they won the game, 36 to 25.
West Deptford and Paulsboro are both in their respective state final games this weekend. The Eagles will face Haddonfield in the SJ Group 2 State Final on Dec. 3, while the Red Raiders will face Penns Grove in the SJ Group 1 State Final on Dec. 2.
The two programs want to continue their rivalry series, but they're not sure whether they want to keep the game on Thanksgiving weekend, especially if they're going to be perennial state championship contenders. The NJSIAA state final games are after Thanksgiving weekend as of now, and unless changes are made to the schedule, West Deptford and Paulsboro are thinking about moving the game earlier in the season.
