West Deptford Police Investigating Home Burglaries, Attempts

Police estimate the losses in stolen property in the incidents approaching $4,500.

West Deptford Police are investigating a pair of home burglaries and a burglary attempt that occurred in the township in the past week, costing residents nearly $4,500 in estimated losses.

The first incident was reported on November 3 in the 100 block of Union Avenue. According to police, a home in that neighborhood was burglarized between 6 p.m. and 1 a.m. the next day.

About $3,000 in jewelry, electronics, and personal belongings were allegedly removed from within, police said.

Then, on November 5, police said $1,460 in jewelry was stolen from a residence in the Forest Creek Apartments. The incident occurred during the daylight hours at a home in the 1000 block of Woodhollow Drive.

Finally, the following day, residents in that same apartment complex reported evidence of a burglary attempt at their home in the 1800 block of Timberline Drive.

Police said that the homeowners reported damage to the front door of the building that they calculate occurred sometime between 4:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. November 6.
