West Deptford Snags Top Seed In High School Football Playoffs
The Eagles will host Sterling, a team they beat 34-0 this season, in the first round Friday night.
WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — The road to a South Jersey championship goes through West Deptford. The Eagles are the No. 1 seed in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 playoffs, according to Gridiron New Jersey.
West Deptford will host No. 8 Sterling in the quarterfinals on Friday, Nov. 8, 7 p.m. The winner will play the winner of the game between No. 4 Manasquan and No. 5 Delran in the semifinals.
On the other side of the bracket, No. 2 Haddonfield hosts No. 7 Shore, and No. 3 Hillside hosts No. 6 Cinnaminson in the quarterfinals.

West Deptford is 7-1, with its only loss coming by just one point at the hands of St. Joseph (Hammonton). The Eagles earned 19.13 power points and have a strength index of 93.26. They pitched four shutouts this season, including a 34-0 win over Sterling on Sept. 27.
