Who Killed West Deptford's Desiree McGraw?
June 6 marks another year of no answers in the 27-year-old's murder. Investigators continue to press for details of who killed McGraw and why.

As the seventh anniversary approaches of a West Deptford woman’s murder, authorities continue to search for the 27-year-old’s killer.
This anniversary in particular adds an extra sting. It will be the first since Desiree McGraw’s father died without knowing who killed his daughter.
McGraw was found shot behind Jericho Fire Company on Mail Avenue in Deptford on June 6, 2006. The mother of two was found partially clothed by a firefighter searching the building’s perimeter before primary election voting that day.

“We continue to actively investigate Desiree’s murder, and while we have eliminated some suspects, we still seek any information from the public that may help advance this investigation,” said Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean F. Dalton.
Fred McGraw, who lived in Maple Shade, would speak about his daughter to the media every year on the anniversary of her death. He died at age 55 in September 2012.

Desiree McGraw lived in Red Bank Run Apartments before her death, and was known to frequent Broadway in Camden City. At the time of her death, authorities speculated the murder might be drug-related. Her parents described to the Philadelphia Inquirer in 2010 a promising girl who developed a drug problem and was jailed for drug arrests. Pictures not long before her death show the downward spiral from the family pictures of McGraw in better times that her family holds dear.
The last thing she said to her father, the Inquirer reported, is that she wanted to get her life together.
“Desiree’s family deserves some answers and law enforcement wants to deal with whoever committed such a cold-blooded killing,” Dalton said on the fith anniversary of McGraw's murder in 2011.
There is an $8,000 reward for any information that leads to a conviction in McGraw’s murder. Anyone with information can contact Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Sgt. James Ballenger at 856-384-5601 or provide an anonymous tip by testing GLOTIP, then the message and CRIMES (274637).
