2 Die In Fiery Crash Near Garden State Parkway: Cops
Two people died in a fiery highway car crash near the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey on Sunday, police said.

MOUNTAINSIDE – Two people died in a car crash on Sunday on a New Jersey highway near the Garden State Parkway, police said.
The crash happened at approximately 4:05 a.m. when Mountainside police received multiple calls of a vehicle on fire Route 22 east near the intersection with the Garden State Parkway, police said.
Further investigation revealed a vehicle was speeding when it left the roadway and struck a tree in the center aisle of Route 22 near the state Department of Transportation yard, police said.

The vehicle caught fire upon impact, police said.
One woman was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. A man, believed to be the driver, was trapped in the vehicle when it caught fire and burned, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both victims remain unidentified. Mountainside Police are actively investigating the crash and attempting to identify the victims and make notification to their families.
