Actor And Westfield Native Andrew McCarthy To Discuss Memoir

WESTFIELD, NJ — Actor and Westfield native Andrew McCarthy is touring the country — virtually — to promote his memoir, Brat, released on May 11.

The actor gained fame starting in the 1980s by appearing in various coming-of-age sagas including "Pretty in Pink," "St. Elmo's Fire," and "Class."

Among various appearances, McCarthy will appear at a May 24 virtual event via a Jewish Community Center in Essex County as part of their "Jewish Authors & Ideas Virtual Series." He also will make appearances in June.

In the book, McCarthy talked about failed auditions, dangerous addictions, and keeping his distance from costars Molly Ringwald and Jon Cryer, McCarthy tells all.
