WESTFIELD, NJ — Meet Coach Baxter! He has been chosen as Westfield Patch's Pet Of The Week.
"Coach Baxter and I have been running and racing together since he was a pup. We’ve medaled in many races throughout the years. This past fall he trained with me as I prepared for a half marathon running more than 10 miles at a time. His tail never stops wagging.

He motivates me to keep going when my legs are tired and my brain wants to stop. At age 8, he is still clocking 8.5 minute miles. We are both a little older and slower, but still putting in the work. I had a lady come up to me at the Westfield Turkey Trot and say, 'That dog has beaten me in the last two races.' "
