Elm Street Work Continues In Westfield
Road work and parking lot upgrades ongoing this week.

WESTFIELD, NJ - The busy streets of Westfield continue to receive their facelift as work continues on Culvert Street, Benson Place, Elm Street and Overhill Street Monday. According to officials, work will continue throughout the week.
Elm Street Culvert Replacement: Phase two of this County project is underway, which includes a full road closure of Elm Street, with Orchard Street serving as a detour around the work zone.
Benson Place, from East Broad Street to Harding Street: Installation of the stamped intersection of St. Marks/Benson is complete. Speed Hump scheduled to be installed this week with final striping to occur immediately after installation.

Elm Street, from East Dudley to Sinclair Place and Sylvania Place, from Elm Street to Lawrence Avenue: Paving complete. Striping expected to be installed this week.
Overhill Street, from Madison Avenue to Brisbane Place: Paving complete. Striping expected to be installed this week.

Parking Lot #7: Work on the improvement of this lot continues to progress, as the drainage infrastructure and curbing has been completed. New light pole foundations and conduit have been installed, and awaits installation/activation by PSE&G. Adjustments to electrical handholes have been completed by the PSE&G subcontractor. The installation of concrete islands and sidewalks continues. Pavement preparations will begin next week, and it is expected that final paving/striping will occur the week of Oct. 8.
Officials note all work is weather permitting.
