Ex-Met Lenny Dykstra To Fight Long Island 'Bagel Boss Guy' In AC

Former Mets star Lenny Dykstra has signed a deal to fight Chris "Bagel Boss Guy" Morgan at the Showboat Hotel and Casino on Sept. 7.

The 45-year-old Morgan gained notoriety this summer when he was the subject of a video shared on Twitter where he was seen angrily ranting at a Bagel Boss in Bay Shore. The diatribe focused on women making fun of height.

At the end of the video, Morgan was tossed to the ground. You can see the video below.

Shortly after that July incident Morgan signed the fight deal for an opponent to be named later. The initial viral video caught the attention of Dykstra, who took to his Twitter account to offer to get Morgan some help.

Instead, the 56-year-old three-time MLB All-Star and World Series champ will be stepping into the ring with Morgan.

According to TMZ, Dykstra will be paid a fixed amount for the fight.

Dykstra is a former professional athlete but he has had his share of difficulties of late. Back in June he went dumpster diving for $80,000 in false teeth behind a Jersey Mike's. He's been sentenced to jail on theft charges and he's also had issues with drugs.

He was recently cleared of charges that he threatened to kill an Uber driver and the city of Linden accused him of illegally renting rooms at his house. More recently, his former teammate on the 1986 world champion New York Mets, Ron Darling, accused Dykstra of making racist remarks before game three of the World Series. Dykstra and a number of other players denied the claims.

For his part, Morgan has been training at Longo-Weidman Mixed Martial Arts in Garden City. His trainers include Al Iaquinta and Chris Weidman. You can see video of a training session below.

This is not the first time Dykstra has courted a public fight. A few years ago he challenged actor Mickey Rourke to a rumble.
