Westfield Police Detective Eric Lieberman Was Father Of 2
Funeral services have been set for Westfield Police Detective Eric Lieberman, lovingly called 'Dude,' who unexpectedly died on Tuesday.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Funeral services have been set for the unexpected and untimely death of Westfield Police Detective Eric Lieberman, lovingly called "Dude."
Lieberman died on Tuesday leaving behind his two sons, Tyler and Eric and parents Pat and Phil who is a retired Westfield Police Lt.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave. in Westfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity RC Church, 315 1st St., Westfield. Followed by the Internment at 11:30 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, 1100 East Broad St.m, Westfield. Repast will follow at Temple Emanu-El, 756 East Broad St., Westfield.
Lieberman had been employed by the Westfield Police Department and an active PBA Member for 27 years. He currently held the rank of Detective First Grade.

He was hired on Jan. 29, 1992, appointed to plain clothes officer on Oct. 31, 2000 and promoted to detective second grade on Sept. 10, 2001 and detective first grade on July 15, 2004.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and all those who loved him. Rest In Peace 'Dude,'" Westfield PBA 90 posted.
