"Gardening With a Purpose" Workshop at FUMC Westfield
Come learn the basics of gardening and see how you can help FUMC Westfield grow food for the Westfield Food Pantry!

Armed with a clear purpose, prospective gardeners can quickly learn needed techniques and achieve remarkable results.
For the last three years gardens at FUMC have produced over 400 lb. of vegetables annually for the Westfield Food Pantry. This year we are aiming to double production, and you are invited to join the effort! Your first opportunity is to attend the “Gardening with a Purpose” Workshop on Saturday March 16th, 9:00 to 11:30 AM in FUMC Social Hall.
During the workshop, we will:

- Learn basics of garden design and soil preparation.
- Sow seeds for our Food Pantry Garden--indoor starts for tomatoes, peppers, etc. (Extra seeds are available for your own vegetable, herb, and flower garden.)
- Understand basic gardening concepts and horticultural terms.
- Prepare to maximize production from our plots.
The Workshop is open from middle school youth to adults. There is a $10 materials fee for each participant. Class size is limited to 25 participants. To register, please complete this form and return it to FUMC Westfield!
