WESTFIELD, NJ — The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement Wednesday morning, warning North Jersey residents of slippery conditions outside.
"With temperatures below freezing and with snow showers that have occurred across the region during the overnight, untreated surfaces are icy and slippery," says the statement. "Proceed with extra caution if going outdoors and driving through the morning commute."
(Meanwhile, forecasters are eyeing another snowfall that could arrive Sunday.)

Westfield and several other area districts went remote again Wednesday due to cleanup from this week's historic nor'easter.
Among them was Maplewood, which will now be remote for the rest of the week and has only had one week of in-person instruction this school year.
