2021 marks the tenth year that Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss, has been providing support to grieving children, teenagers, and families. This year will also mark an important transition in the organization. Founder and Executive Director of Imagine, Mary Robinson, has decided to step out of her role as Executive Director to dedicate her time as Founder of Imagine to outreach, education, writing, fundraising, and speaking/training both locally and nationally.
“There are natural lifecycles for non-profit organizations like Imagine. This is the right time for me to make this transition and for Imagine to hire an Executive Director to lead Imagine to the next place. This transition will allow me to devote my time to be a public face for Imagine, write, train, and fundraise for the mission I am passionate about and love,” said Mary Robinson, who was recognized in 2019 as a CNN Hero for her dedication and service to grieving children and families for over 20 years.
As Imagine searches for their next leader, Richard Szeto, a long-time volunteer and consultant to Imagine, will serve as Interim Executive Director to oversee operations and support staff and volunteers through this transition. “The mission of Imagine is important to the communities we serve. It has been my honor to serve Imagine as a volunteer, consultant, and now as Interim Executive Director. We will continue to work toward our vision that no child grieves alone,” said Richard Szeto, who came to Imagine with 40 years of investment banking, financial services, teaching and business strategy experience.
