Library Closings: Westfield, Summit, Millburn, Maplewood Cranford

ESSEX AND UNION COUNTY, NJ – Maybe you’re staying home rather than jetting to Florida for the coldest holidays of the year (or maybe you want some beach reading for your trip). Here are a list of the library hours and closings over the holiday weeks for Cranford, Maplewood, Millburn, Summit, and Westfield, as well as links to the calendars of events. Please double check the hours before heading over, in case they change.

Cranford: The library closes at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve and is closed for Christmas. It’s open the day after Christmas. It also closes at 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and is closed on New Year’s Day. Oh, and there’s good (or bad) news for parents – there’s an event for fourth to sixth graders to make “fluffy slime” on Dec. 30. Don't you need more things to clean up? Maplewood: The library has a list of holiday hours for both branches here. The Main Library is open 10-1 on Christmas Eve and the Hilton Branch is closed. Same with New Year’s Eve. Both branches are closed on Christmas. Here is the calendar of events.

Millburn: The library closes at 12:45 for Christmas Eve and is closed on Christmas. It closes 12:15 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Check out the complete calendar here.

Summit: According to the list of holiday hours, the library closes at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve and ic closed on Christmas. It closes at 1 on New Year’s Eve. Here also is the event calendar.

Westfield: The library is closed all day on Christmas Eve, but it also has later hours on New Year’s Eve. The library is closed Dec. 24 and 25, and open until 3 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Here is the event calendar, with holiday hours.
