Paving Projects Rolling Along In Westfield. See What's Next

WESTFIELD, NJ - Westfield's record number of road improvements are rolling along as both the town and Elizabethtown Gas are working on upgrading local thoroughfares.

Over the last nine years, the Town has paved an average of approximately four miles of roadway each year. This year, that figure will rise to more than eight total miles, 31 roads, marking an unprecedented effort in this area. In addition to the municipal paving efforts, the Town also announced an agreement with Elizabethtown Gas in which the utility will pave 9.82 miles of roadway on 59 roads that it has disrupted as part of its ongoing maintenance and repair work in various parts of Town over the course of the past 18 months.

Elizabethtown Gas paving work scheduled to begin on or about July 1:

• Kensington Drive (entire length)
• Leigh Drive (entire length)

Notices have been delivered by Elizabethtown Gas' paving contractor, Atlantic Infrastructure, to residents within these areas in advance of this scheduled work.

For their part, the Town of Westfield paving work update is:

• Jefferson Avenue (entire length): Paving complete. Installation of striping to be scheduled in the coming weeks.
• Kimball Avenue (Kimball Turn to Woodland Avenue): Paving complete. Installation of striping to be scheduled in the coming weeks.
• Woodland Avenue (Kimball Avenue to Town line): Paving complete. Installation of striping to be scheduled in the coming weeks.
• Wychwood Road (East Broad Street to Woodland Avenue): Paving complete. Installation of striping to be scheduled in the coming weeks.
• Wychwood Road (Woodland Avenue to Town line): Milling complete. Installation of final paving scheduled to occur the week of July 1.
• West Court (entire length): Milling complete. Installation of ADA compliant ramps and final paving scheduled to occur the week of July 1.
• Knollwood Terrace (Nancy Way to Lamberts Mill Road): Milling complete. Replacement of inlets and manholes scheduled for the week of July 1. Final paving expected to occur the week of July 8.
• Nancy Way (entire length): Milling complete. Replacement of inlets and manholes and installation of ADA compliant ramps to occur the week of July 1. Final paving expected to occur the week of July 8.

The work is weather permitting.
