Plainfield Native's Rashan Gary Honored By Big Ten Conference

Rashan Gary had a breakout season his sophomore year.

PLAINFIELD, NJ — Plainfield native and Paramus Catholic alumnus University of Michigan defensive lineman Rashan Gary has been honored by the Big Ten Conference.

Gary was one of just five players named to the conference's East Division team as part of its preseason honors.

Gary is a two-time letterman at Michigan. He was an All-Big Ten Conference Second Team last year when he had 65 tackles, including 11.5 tackles for a loss and five and a half sacks.

Gary, a Plainfield native, was the No. 2 ranked high school recruit while at Paramus Catholic. He was an All-American his senior year of high school and team MVP of the Under Armour All-American Game. He was All-USA Defensive Player of the Year his junior season and New Jersey Defensive Player of the Year his sophomore and junior seasons.
