With summer just around the corner, you may be looking for a place around Westfield to take a swim. We've got you covered.
WESTFIELD, NJ — Summer is just around the corner, and you may be planning now to find activities to keep the kids busy — and cool. An obvious summer favorite pastime is spending those hot afternoons at the local pool.
The state recently issued guidance for pools to follow, so they can safely operate during the coronavirus pandemic.
So where near Westfield can you take a dip? We've compiled this guide of local pools to help you and your family stay cool this summer.

The Westfield Memorial Pool and Aquatic Complex, 713 Cumberland St. in Westfield, opens on June 5, then goes full-time June 24. It's open to both Westfield and non-Westfield residents. The Pool Complex offers a large main 50-meter pool that is 165' x 75', a diving pool with two diving boards, an eight-lane competitive lap pool, two large water slides, a two-foot children's pool, a zero-entry children's training pool, a newly renovated splash pad, a snack bar, a picnic area, a private playground, and large grass areas. Westfield Area YMCA, 1220 Clark St. in Westfield, offers group and individual instructional swim, lifeguard training, water fitness and the Devilfish Swim Team. Click here for more information.
Summit Family Aquatic Center, 100 Ashwood Ave., Summit. Residents and a limited number of non-residents can use the center. It opens for weekends and holidays May 29 and full-time June 17. According to the website, "The Summit Family Aquatic Center boasts an award-winning facility, recognized for both design and programming by the New Jersey Recreation and Parks Association as well as Aquatics International." Berkeley Heights Community Pool at the YMCA, 59 Locust Ave., Berkeley Heights. The pool boasts an Olympic-sized, outdoor, heated pool, two diving boards, zero-entry kiddie pool, playground and pool house surrounded by beautiful landscaping. Offering you hours of opportunities to enjoy quality leisure time with family, lap swim, aquatic exercise classes, first time water experiences for infants and toddlers, summer camp, swim lessons, competitive swim, social events and more.
