Prayer Service Tonight For Westfield Teen Who Was Struck, Killed By Off-Duty N.J. State Trooper

Breaking: A prayer service will be held Monday night for the family and friends of Westfield High School ​freshman Terry DiFalco.

WESTFIELD, NJ — A prayer service will be held Monday night for the family and friends of Westfield High School freshman Terry DiFalco who was struck and killed by an off-duty state trooper.

The prayer will be held at Parish Community of St. Helen, 1600 Rahway Avenue in Westfield at 7:30 p.m. on March 6.

DiFalco, 13, was tragically struck and killed on Saturday night by a service vehicle driven by an off-duty New Jersey State Police Trooper, Union County Prosecutor's Office said.

She was attending a gathering at Central Avenue near Wyoming Street for a scavenger hunt organized by members of the school play.

Police responded to 1800 block of Central Avenue at around 8:30 p.m. on March 4 where they found to find the DiFalco. She was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

Grief counselors were at Westfield High School on Monday.

The investigation is continuing, with the Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, Union County Police Department, and Westfield Police Department assisting.
