We're in store for more rain and potential flooding following a mayhem weekend of flash flooding across the state.

Another round of heavy rain will inundate New Jersey Monday, and could bring more flash flooding throughout the state. A flash flood watch is in place in 12 New Jersey counties throughout the day Monday. The following counties are impacted: Sussex, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex, Mercer, Monmouth, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem. The Flash Flood Watch is in place until midnight on Tuesday.

Parts of coastal New Jersey are also under a flash flood warning through 12:30 p.m. Monday. In parts of Monmouth and Ocean County, as much as three inches has already fallen and flash flooding is "expected to begin shortly in the areas of heaviest rain," the National Weather Service said.

"Several rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to impact the area into this evening. The storms will be capable of producing very heavy downpours resulting in urban, small stream and flash flooding," the NWS warned.
