Westfield Eatery Named Among 30 Best Restaurants In NJ

WESTFIELD, NJ — A Westfield restaurant has been named to New Jersey Monthly's annual list of 30 best restaurants in New Jersey.

Chez Catherine, located at 431 North Avenue West, made the list thanks to a change in the restaurant's maître d’. Following a business dip, the restaurant hired the engaging veteran Robert Madden who brought the "warmth tracing back to the restaurant’s 1979 founder, the late Catherine Alexandrou."

Stephane Bocket has also come into his own, "regaining his quiet charm and self-effacing humor." While chef Christine Migton’s "food remains superb."

“You don’t have to go to Paris or Cannes to get that feeling. You have all of that here," said Catherine Matthews-Bocket.

The restaurant's menu rotates seasonally. This summer there is "Noix de Saint Jacques" - sea scallops, red pepper coulis, avocado, pomme duchesse.

Chez Catherine was the only Union County restaurant to make the list.
