Westfield Gives After-Snow Update About Parking, Shoveling
More snow is predicted for later this week. See what the National Weather Service expects for Westfield.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield offered an update Sunday evening after Mother Nature (working closely with Old Man winter?) dropped another 5 inches of snow in Union County.
There was already snow on the ground from last week's nor'easter.
The Department of Public Works issued a message around 6 p.m. Sunday saying:

- The Department of Public Works will soon be wrapping up plowing operations for the night, and will resume work tomorrow morning with salting, as well as clearing out municipal lots and sidewalks. Thanks to everyone who moved their cars off of the street to help facilitate plowing.
- For those parked in Lots 1 and 3 due to the storm, please ensure your cars are moved by 6 a.m. on Monday so that the lots can be properly cleared.
- As a reminder, all sidewalks must be cleared by property owners within 24 hours after the snow has stopped falling. When doing so, throwing/tossing/blowing snow back into a plowed street is not permitted, as it impedes plowing work and contributes to icing on the roads.
- Grand Sanitation will proceed with the regularly scheduled recycling pickup for Zone 6 tomorrow [Monday]. Please ensure that your items for collection are easily accessible and do not require the crews to climb over snow banks.
Forecasters say the Garden State may be in for more snow later this week. Specifically for Union County, the National Weather Service predicts a little snow Tuesday and Thursday. For the few days after that, judging from Accuweather's forecasts, it might get easier to report which days snow is not predicted.
