Westfield Man Arrested for DWI After Striking Parked Car

A Westfield man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after he struck a parked vehicle on South Avenue and fled the scene.

On Dec. 19 at approximately 9:53 p.m., Edward Hom, 51, was traveling Westbound on South Avenue near Downer Street when he struck the vehicle and continued driving, according to Westfield Police.

Hom was located in his vehicle on Martine Avenue in Fanwood, where he was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated following an investigation by officers at the scene, police said.

He was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters where he was processed and released to a sober individual.
