Westfield Road Resurfacing Rolls Along. See The Streets Up Next
Three new roads are being milled, weather permitting, as part of the 18 miles of planned paving.
WESTFIELD, NJ - Westfield's record-breaking plans for road improvement continue this week as a new round of work is slated to begin. is going to make a record number of road improvements this year and the work has already begun.
Over the last nine years, the Town has paved an average of approximately four miles of roadway each year. This year, that figure will rise to more than eight total miles, 31 roads, marking an unprecedented effort in this area. In addition to the municipal paving efforts, the Town also announced an agreement with Elizabethtown Gas in which the utility will pave 9.82 miles of roadway on 59 roads that it has disrupted as part of its ongoing maintenance and repair work in various parts of Town over the course of the past 18 months.
As part of the Town’s 2019 paving efforts, the following roads will be milled and resurfaced beginning Wednesday, weather permitting:

- Woodland Avenue (Kimball Avenue to Town line)
- Kimball Avenue (Woodland Avenue to Kimball Turn)
- Knollwood Terrace (Nancy Way to Lamberts Mill Road)
Notices have been delivered by the Town to residents within these areas in advance of this scheduled work, officials said.
"I am a firm believer in putting residents' tax dollars to work for them, and road improvements continues to be a top request that the Council members and I hear on a regular basis," said Mayor Shelley Brindle when the projects were announced.
