The alert said:
- In anticipation of the storm, Public Works will begin pre-treating roadways throughout Town this afternoon.
- We expect impacts to the residential recycling pickup on Monday and potentially Tuesday, and will provide an update as soon as we receive the details from Grand Sanitation.
- Public ordinance 2070 prohibits parking on any street in Westfield when three or more inches of snow have fallen until snowfall stops and the entire width of the road has been plowed. Under these circumstances, the shoveling or blowing of snow into a plowed street is also banned.
- Residents are reminded that, in addition to cars, all items should be cleared from the roadways and curbs — including basketball hoops — to help facilitate efficient plowing.
- Updates, including plowing alerts and public safety information, will be posted on the Town’s website (www.westfieldnj.gov) and social media channels, as well as through Nixle.
The National Weather Service says that 9-13 inches could fall just on Monday. They have issued an alert saying snow could total 16-22 inches from Sunday night through early Tuesday morning.
