Westfield Went To The Dogs Sunday

Downtown Westfield's Dog Days of Summer featured a pet parade, photo contest and the Union County K-9 Unit.

WESTFIELD, NJ - Downtown Westfield went to the dogs on Sunday, as the Dog Days of Summer event took over Quimby Street for pet friendly activities.

"Thanks also to everyone who came out with their pooches, Congressman Tom Malinowski for helping me select “dogtor in the house” as the winner of the dog parade, Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Westfield for being a sponsor, and to my daughter Nora Brindle for volunteering and representing Wise Animal Rescue," Mayor Shelley Brindle wrote on social media.

Packed into the 90 minute event was a pet parade, Wolf Gang Bakery & Dog Grooming and a visit from the Union County K-9 Unit.

Beyond the store specials and treats there was an opportunity to take your own photos at the Little Nest studio with Paw Patrol characters on hand. And of course, the pet parade.

"Downtown and Councilwoman Dawn Mackey for creating an amazing Dog Days of Summer event on Quimby today," Brindle said, noting that her dogs were "pooped."
