'Wheels for Bri 5K' Fundraiser This Weekend to Support Local Family

On Saturday, May 16 join the community in support of Brianna, a local 6-year-old girl with a rare genetic disorder.

On Saturday, May 16, Park Community Church is hosting “Wheels for Bri:” A fundraising event to help Brianna and her family.

Brianna, a 6-year-old little girl from South Plainfield, suffers from a genetic disorder known as Pallister Killian Syndrome, or PKS. The genetic disorder is so rare, only about 200 people in the world have been diagnosed with PKS. The disorder has left Brianna blind, non-verbal and confined to a wheelchair. The family hopes to raise enough money to purchase a much-needed handicap accessible vehicle.

The event will be held at 2480 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ (behind the Senior Center) and will open at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon. There will be a 5K Run, a one mile Family Fun Walk, live music, vendors, activities for kids, prizes, tricky tray, dunk tank and more.
