Young Westfield Firefighter, Father, Husband Will Be 'Deeply Missed'
Visitation will be held at the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Avenue in Westfield on Sunday for Michael Lanza, 35, of Scotch Plains.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Arrangements have been set for Westfield Firefighter Michael Lanza, 35, of Scotch Plains who died suddenly on Wednesday.
Visitation will be held at the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Avenue in Westfield on Sunday, Feb. 26 from 2 to 5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. at St. Helen’s Church, Westfield.
"All of us at Westfield FMBA Local 30 send our thoughts and prayers to the Lanza family during this difficult time," the department posted. "Rest in peace Mike, we'll take it from here."

Michael was born and raised in Westfield and has lived in Scotch Plains with his family. He graduated from Westfield High School in 2000 and the Union County Fire Academy.
Michael has been a Westfield firefighter and EMT since July 2003. He was a member of Local 30 FMBA.

He was the beloved husband of Annett Lanza. Devoted father of Anthony and Charlotte. Loving son of Glenn and Ellen Lanza. He will also be deeply missed by his brothers Brian and David, according to his obituary with Dooley Colonial Home.
