Teen Critically Injured In 7-Car Crash On Robert Moses Causeway
A 19-year-old driver was critically injured in the chain-reaction crash.

ROBERT MOSES CAUSEWAY, NY — One person was critically injured in a 7-car crash on the Robert Moses Causeway Wednesday night, according to New York State Police. The crash occurred at 7:40 p.m. on the northbound part of the causeway.
A 30-year-old Brentwood man was driving a 2013 Mercedes on the causeway when he failed to stop as traffic was stopped, and as a result struck one car from behind and caused six other cars to be struck in a chain-reaction crash, police said.
Sameer Ramnarine, 19, of Jamaica, who was driving a 1997 Lexus, was critically injured and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip. No one in any of the other cars were injured in the collision.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation and the State police are asking for anyone with information to call 631-756-3300.
