7 LI Justice Stores To Close; Parent Company Declares Bankruptcy

Ascena, which owns Justice, Lane Bryant, Ann Taylor, Catherine's, Lou & Grey and Cacique, will be closing more than 1,000 stores nationwide.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Several Justice stores will close on Long Island after its parent company filed for bankruptcy Thursday.

Ascena, which also owns Lane Bryant, Ann Taylor, LOFT, Catherine's, Lou & Grey and Cacique, said it will close more than 1,000 of its stores.

According to USA Today, these are the seven Justice stores on Long Island that will close:

  • Bay Shore, 2056 Sunrise Highway
  • Commack, 140 E. Jericho Turnpike
  • Garden City, 630 Old Country Road
  • Hicksville, 880 Broadway Mall
  • Lake Grove, 226 Smith Haven Mall
  • Massapequa, 2181 Sunrise Mall
  • West Babylon, 1029 West Montauk Highway

After the closings, there will be three Justice stores remaining on Long Island in Deer Park, Valley Stream and Riverhead.

Business Insider released the list of Ann Taylor and LOFT stores closing; no Long Island locations were affected. However, two in New York — one in Waterloo and another on Fifth Avenue in New York City — will be shuttering. There are 10 LOFT stores on Long Island.

More closings could also be coming. The final number and locations of stores that are closing has not yet been determined, the company stated in the news release.
