Argyle Theatre Warns Residents Of Ticketing Scam

Residents should be aware that an internet search for show tickets at the Argyle Theatre might lead to a fake ticket sales website.

BABYLON, NY - The Argyle Theatre in Babylon is warning residents of a new scam involving tickets to its shows.

Those who look for tickets through internet search engines might be lead to a fake second hand ticketing sales website.

According to a post on Facebook, the theater has received calls from patrons stating that tickets were being sold for over $100, which is more than the price of a typical ticket for a show at the Argyle.

Patrons are advised to only purchase tickets for Argyle shows from argyletheatre.com and ovationtix.com

"This ticketing scam appears to be affecting not only us, but the entire entertainment industry," a post on the Argyle Facebook page reads. "We strongly urge caution when looking for tickets to not only theatre, but concerts and sporting events as well."
