Babylon Memorial Grade School's Sixth Graders Take An Immersive Look at the World Wars

After learning about the World Wars in social studies, sixth-graders in Rick Punzone’s class at Babylon Memorial Grade School had the chance to create their own medals of honor out of clay.

The students sculpted pieces and inscribed them with honorable attributes, and selected ribbons to distinguish their original pieces.

Afterwards, the students wrote letters to their family members from soldiers’ perspective and took turns censoring each others’ work as per the protocols of the time period being studied.
