Residents will place candles in their windows Friday to remember Ralph A. Scordino.
BABYLON, NY — Longtime Babylon Village mayor Ralph A. Scordino died in October at the age of 71. Scordino served as the village's mayor for 16 years. The Babylon Village Chamber will host a candlelight vigil this Friday at 5 p.m. to remember the late Scordino.
New Babylon Village Mayor Mary Adams is also coordinating the event. Residents and business owners are invited to place a candle in their window to commemorate the late mayor.
The chamber of commerce is distributing battery-operated candles to businesses for the event, dubbed "'Light the Night Tribute for Honorable Mayor Ralph A. Scordino."
