Babylon Village Pool Opens Next Friday, Lot To Be Permit Only
The pool will reopen on June 25, after being closed last year, and access to the pool parking lot will become permit-only.

BABYLON, NY — After being closed last summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Babylon Village pool will reopen this month. The Gilbert C. Hanse Municipal Pool opens its doors Friday, June 25. Summer recreation programs and the village golf course are also back this summer.
Along with the pool reopening, village officials are making the municipal pool's parking lot at the end of Fire Island Ave. accessible only with a permit. A statement from Babylon Village says the change comes due to a "high volume of speeding traffic and increased abuse of the pool parking lot."
The permit, the same one needed for the main Babylon Village dock parking lot, will be available on the village website or at the Village Clerk's office. The permit is free to residents. Anyone with boat and ramp permits can access the lot after dark.
