Babylon Village Santa Run Postponed Due To Weather

The event originally scheduled for Friday has been postponed until next week.

BABYLON VILLAGE, NY — The holiday festivities in Babylon set for Friday have been postponed due to the inclement weather expected.

The Santa car parade, which was originally scheduled for Friday night, will now take place on Saturday, Dec. 12.

"Tough call to make when every weather app says something different," a post on the Babylon Village of Commerce Facebook page reads.

However, residents can still shop and dine in the village for the Old Fashioned Night of Shopping event.

Until 9 p.m., guests can shop for holiday specials at local businesses while also enjoying treats at local restaurants and eateries. In addition, raffle tickets will be sold for the chance to win a special raffle basket.

According to Accuweather, a nor'easter is expected to hit the area Friday night into Saturday, bringing heavy winds and rain across Long Island.
