Alaina Vaccarello, a second grader at Babylon Elementary School, donated a book to the school library that was written and illustrated by someone very special to her – her own grandmother. The book, “Balena: The Whale That Went Green,” tells the story of a young whale who is saved by human children. Alaina’s grandmother, Gena Vaccarello, even included a character that is based off of Alaina. Alaina’s classmates look forward to reading this book during their library special.
