Community Shows Support for Local Teen at Kayla's Country Fest
A fundraiser was held on the first weekend of August to support local teen Kayla Vinciguerra, who suffers from a rare brain condition.

A fundraiser held on the first weekend of August to benefit 17-year-old Kayla Vinciguerra of Babylon who suffers from a variance of Dandy Walker Syndrome.
Kayla’s Country Fest was held at Fireman’s Memorial Pavilion in Lindenhurst and featured raffles, children’s attractions, line dancing and live music from country groups like Rattlesnake Dawn and Unwined. Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer and Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez were in attendance.
A portion of the proceeds raised during the event were also donated to Angela’s House, an organization that supports families whose children require assistance due to a severe disability or medical condition.

Kayla was diagnosed with the rare brain condition when she was five and relies completely on others for care.
