Election To Fill Seat On Suffolk Legislature Set For March
DuWayne Gregory, legislator for the 15th district, announced recently he will be leaving to join the Babylon Town Council.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY - A special election to fill the seat left open by Suffolk County Legislator DuWayne Gregory has been scheduled. The election will take place on March 10.
Gregory announced recently he will be stepping down as legislator for the 15th district in order to take over Jackie Gordon's seat on the Town of Babylon board. Gordon announced she will be stepping down to run for Congress.
"In many ways, this new adventure is like going home. I got my start in government by working for the Town of Babylon in constituent services," Gregory said in a statement.

The district covers Wheatley Heights, Wyandanch, North Amityville, Amityville Village, Copiague, parts of North Lindenhurst, West Babylon and North Babylon, and the portion of Farmingdale which lies in Suffolk County.
The new legislator will take over the remainder of Gregory's term ending December 2020.
